VR games publisher Things3D announced that the futuristic anti-gravity VR racing game “Radial-G: Proteus” will be available for Oculus Quest, Dec. 17.
A huge hit on previous VR platforms including Rift, PSVR and Vive, Tammeka Games’ new version of “Radial-G” delivers the hardcore, premium racing experience to Oculus Quest’s untethered VR platform.
The futuristic race puts players in control of a sleek spaceship. The tracks are built from winding, coiling tubes that the ship adheres itself to. The environments offer stunning, vertiginous views, if the pilot dares to take their eyes off the track.
“Radial-G: Proteus” features eight gameplay modes, including single player, combat, elimination and championship, across nine tubular, half-pipe and rail-based racetracks. The new Oculus version will also include a multiplayer mode.
The new version has a techno soundtrack by Tom Evans and Last Ronin.
The developers are planning to release multiple updates to add to the game’s features over the coming months.
The first update, the Omega Update, is slated for the first quarter of 2020, adding a new boss-fight game-mode, additional racetrack, expanded single player campaigns and three additional unlockable ships.
